RUSSIA: The Growing Threat to World Peace
“Russia is the greatest threat of any nation on earth.” Quote by FBI Director James Comey in his testimony before a U.S. Senate hearing on May 3, 2017
One wonders what his testimony would reveal now . . . in 2022?
IS RUSSIA PLANTING NUCLEAR WEAPONS OFF U. S. COASTLINES?
On the same day as Comey’s testimony about the dangers of Russia, a number of news agencies reported that Russia is quietly hiding “mole” nuclear weapons off the coasts of the United States which could be detonated to create super-tsunamis that would destroy American coastal cities (presumably on both coasts).
Viktor Baranetz, a former military colonel and spokesman for Moscow’s Defense Ministry, told Komsomolskaya Pravada that Russia was “quietly ‘seeding’ the US shoreline with nuclear ‘mole’ missiles.” They “dig themselves in and ‘sleep’ until they are given the command to detonate,” he told the newspaper. (Reports by the Independent, Freedom Outposts, Mirror, MEMRI, Sun, and Telegraph)
The former military officer said Russia had to come up with an effective way to defend itself, while operating with a much smaller military budget than America. “The US is the permanent ‘world champion’ in the size of its military budget — almost $600 billion, which is 10 times more than Russia’s,” Colonel Baranetz explained. His comments have been passed off as “crackpot” and “ludicrous” claims and is being strangely ignored by the major media.
Baranetz went on to declare — “The Americans are deploying their tanks, airplanes and special forces battalions along the Russian border and we are quietly ‘seeding’ the U.S. shoreline with nuclear ‘mole’ missiles.”
Perhaps this is just part of the on-going rumor-mill that we are all used to. The Russian Colonel may indeed be a crackpot or lunatic or this may be a Russian effort to ignite fear and curtail the expansion of U.S. military forces in Europe.
On the other hand . . .
IS THERE ANY BIBLICAL BASIS FOR SUCH A HORRIFIC ATTACK UPON AN UNSUSPECTING NATION?
Please note: The author and researcher of the following Biblical texts is not an alarmist. At the same time, there are passages woven throughout the Scriptures that are virtually unknown or strangely ignored by most people and even most pastors and Bible teachers. We need to remember that “All Scripture is given by inspiration of God and is profitable . . . ” (2 Timothy 3:16) No Biblical text should ever be passed over and simply ignored.
I sincerely hope that my conclusions are wrong. You can be the judge of that:
TSUNAMI WAVES OF DESTRUCTION:
The idea of creating huge tsunami waves through “moles” or pre-positioned nuclear weapons is very ingenious. Who but the power hungry and insane leaders of the Kremlin could think of such a thing!
There would be no missiles to shoot down . . . just sudden destruction at the flip of a button igniting weapons of mass destruction hidden in the depths of the oceans. The very thought of 200 to 300 foot waves crashing in upon cities is beyond comprehension. But in these days of technology such insane warfare is entirely possible. The fact that we have put economic sanctions against Russia because of their invasion of Ukraine may also increase the possibility of such an unannounced attack.
Does the Bible talk about such dreadful end-time events? Sadly . . . the answer is yes.
Jesus warned of terrifying waves of destruction when He said — “And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; THE SEA and the WAVES ROARING; Men’s hearts failing them for fear . . . “ Luke 21:25-26 It is also amazing that one of the Old Testament prophets predicted the destruction of end-time cities by enormous waves: “The sea is come up upon Babylon; she is covered with the multitude of its waves.” (Jeremiah 51:42)
Can you imagine the panic that would be caused at the exploding of numerous nuclear bombs at sea and huge tsunamis suddenly approaching our coastal cities? Psalm 46:2-3 declares this same ghastly theme — “Therefore we will not fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled . . . ”
Fix your eyes and heart upon the first verse of this Messianic and prophetic psalm as it gives great hope to those who know and are trusting in the Lord Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord — “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear.” Psalm 46:1-2
POLLUTED OCEANS:
There are a number of Biblical passages that even refer to the polluting of the oceans during a future time of great trouble:
” . . . the third part of the sea became blood; And the third part of the creatures which were in the sea, and had life, died; and the third part of the ships were destroyed.” (Revelation 8:8-9)
Revelation 16:3 — ” . . . the sea became like the blood of a dead man (corpse); and every living soul died in the sea.”
Why would the sea become polluted and filled with dead creatures (and men)?
Consider the aftermath of multiple nuclear weapons being ignited at the bottom of the oceans and near the coasts of a country. Not only would fish be killed, but think of the tsunami waters eventually returning into the oceans with multitudes of city victims and debris.
Nuclear warfare would also pollute the oceans when numerous missiles would explode oceans to destroy enemy submarines. Death and devastation would be world-wide and there would be no place to hide! The Scriptures tell us that 1/3 of the earth will become a wasteland.
INSTANT DESTRUCTION FROM THE NORTH:
Sudden and total destruction of a great end-time nation is described in a number of passages in the Bible. (Sound the Alarm- Part 3)
Get your own Bible out and read Isaiah 13:5-13. Verse 19 declares that this end-time nation referred to as “Babylon” will become just like Sodom and Gomorrah. I have stood in the ashes of the Gomorrah site which is right below Masada by the Dead Sea in Israel. The smell of sulfur still lingers and nothing grows there. It was an emotional experience to stand there and realize this was once a thriving city that was suddenly destroyed by fire.
Numerous verses in Jeremiah chapters 50 and 51 give the details of an end-time nation destroyed by a sudden attack from the north. “For out of the north there comes up a nation against her which shall make her land desolate, and none shall dwell in it; they shall remove themselves, they shall depart, both man and beast.” (Jeremiah 50:4) “For, lo, I will raise and cause to come up against Babylon an assembly of great nations from the north country . . . from there (the north country) she shall be taken; their arrows shall be as of a mighty expert man; none shall return in vain.” (Jeremiah 50:9)
God even mentions a “destroying wind” in the first verse of Jeremiah chapter 51. Could that be the devastation of nuclear weapons?
The warning of this destructive and cataclysmic attack is said to come suddenly and as a great “surprise.” (Jeremiah 51:41)
But of all the descriptions of this future day of horror, Revelation chapter 18 seems to be the most explicit. God tells us that the wealthy consumer of the world products will be suddenly destroyed in ONE HOUR — “Therefore shall her plagues come in ONE DAY, death, and mourning, and famine, and she shall be utterly burned with fire . . . For in ONE HOUR is thy judgment come . . . for in ONE HOUR so great riches are come to nothing . . . For in ONE HOUR is she made desolate.” (Revelation 18:8, 10, 17, 19)
WHO IS THE “DAUGHTER OF BABYLON?”
Is America listed as one of the great nations in the Bible? The answer to that question is quite simple. NO! Check any Bible concordance and you will not find neither “America” or the “United States.”
I have made a list of seventy descriptions of this end-time nation that is referred to as the "daughter of Babylon" so I will not deal with that subject here. Click on the link above if you are interested.
I certainly hope that my conclusions are wrong but here is a brief summary description as presented in the Scriptures:
The Bible describes a powerful end-time nation as “Babylon” and “The Daughter of Babylon”.
This “daughter of Babylon” is described as the youngest of the great nations, born from a motherland, is composed of a mixed multitude (a literal melting pot of all nationalities). The “daughter of Babylon” is also depicted as the most wealthy of nations, the world center of manufacturing, commerce, and agricultural production. This end-time nation will also be the great consumer of the world’s products with merchant ships filling her many harbors. Her location is to the WEST of Jerusalem, “beyond the rivers of Ethiopia” whereas historical Babylon (in Iraq) was located to the east of Israel.
The land will be fully developed and mapped with many cities and harbors. Air travel and military security are some of her greatest assets. This “daughter of Babylon” and her people who once were once recognized as the “lady of kingdoms,” will become preoccupied with pleasures, luxuries, and higher education.
She will become arrogant in her attitude toward the Lord of Heaven. She will give herself to drugs, occultic practices and great immorality. Perversion will become her accepted lifestyle. Sound familiar?
I have also made a list of the numerous verses that speak of the total destruction and judgment of this great and wealthy end-time nation.
Let me encourage you to begin searching the Scriptures for yourself! The major passages are found in Isaiah chapter 13, Jeremiah chapters 50 and 51, and Revelation chapter 18. Someone convince me that I am wrong please. Chuck Anderson / pastorchk@aol.com

WHERE DOES ONE HIDE?
Survivalist preparations will be of little help on a day when an entire nation is suddenly attacked and destroyed. In fact, the survivors will suffer the most with nuclear radiation burns, nuclear winter, nuclear contamination everywhere including the water you drink and the air you breathe. Other survivors will become desperate and violent in their attempts to find food.
I believe there is only ONE true place of safety . . . and that is by placing your faith in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord.
I don’t believe that we should ignore the future and fail to prepare for difficult times. That would be irresponsible, and the fact is we may go through some very difficult times in America before it is all over.
But I also believe that Jesus is returning in the air to deliver those who truly believe in Him and have received His as Savior. We call that event the rapture. That is what the New Testament book of 2 Thessalonians is all about: deliverance from the wrath to come. Jesus is coming . . . and we need to be ready. Don’t face the future with fear . . . place your faith in Christ now!
