NEW RUSSIAN NUCLEAR WEAPONS
A preview of things to come?
Vladimir Putin has revealed that Russia has successfully tested two new nuclear-powered weapons - the "Poseidon Underwater Drone" and the "Burevestnik Cruice Missile", weapons that represent a new class of doomsday technology designed not merely to defend Russia but terrify the world. (Prophecy News Watch, October 30, 2025)
The Burevestnik looks like a conventional cruise missile, but it is powered by a miniature nuclear reactor that can deep it flying for weeks or even months without refueling. It could potentially circle the globe indefinitely and strike a target with a nuclear warhead without warning.
UNDERWATER NUCLEAR THREAT:
Putin also announced that is has successfully tested an underwater nuclear-powered torpedo which is capable of traveling at a remarkable 115 miles per hour (New York Times, Wednesday, October 29, 2025). The purpose of this weapon is to ignite nuclear explosions that could create tsunamis powerful enough to devastate coastal cities anywhere in the world. Russia boasts that the Poseidon Torpedo could "drown Britain under a 1,600 foot wave of radioactive seawater."
BIBLICAL PREVIEW?
The potential horrors of nuclear warfare are nothing new . . . you can read about them in the Book of Revelation: "And the second angel sounded, and, as it were, a great mountain burning with fire was cast into the sea; and the third part of the sea became blood. And the third part of the creatures which were in the sea, and had life, died; and the third part of the ships were destroyed. And the third angel sounded, and there fell a great star from heaven, burning as though it were a lamp, and it fell upon the third part of the rivers, and upon the fountains of waters. And the name of the star is called Wormwood; and the third part of the waters became wormwood; and many men died of the waters, because they were made bitter." (Revelation 8:8-11)
The devastation described above will occur in the unforeseen future during the time of Tribulation. Imagine one third of the water of planet earth becoming poisoned, possibly by nuclear radiation. It should be noted that this devastation comes from the sky, as in nuclear missiles. Will God's wrath be poured out upon the unbelieving world through man-made weapons of terrible mass destruction?
SUPER TSUNAMIS?
The Old Testament Prophet Jeremiah spoke of huge waves of water that will devastate an end-time nation referred to as Babylon:
"The sea is come up upon Babylon; she is covered with the multitude of its waves . . . her cities are a desolation." (Jeremiah 51:42-43) In Revelation chapter 18 you can read more about this end-time Babylon that will be destroyed in one hour. It should be noted that this Babylon, whoever it is, will be the wealthy consumer of the products shipped in from all over the world.
WORLD PEACE?
The prospect of lasting world-peace will certainly not occur in the near future. In fact, there will be NO PEACE until the PRINCE OF PEACE returns in triumph at the end of the Tribulation.
