ISRAEL: POWDER KEG OF WORLD WAR 3
The prophecies of Ezekiel concerning the upcoming invasion of Israel by a huge army of Islamic soldiers led by Russia may or may not occur in the foreseeable future . . . but the following Biblical sequence of prophetic events WILL happen . . . either in the near or distant future.
Ezekiel chapters 38 and 39 detail a horrific war that begins when the enemies of Israel attempt to invade Israel: "Gog of the land of Magog" (Russia) will amass a huge army of enraged Muslims in an attempt to destroy Israel once and for all. The nations listed in the Bible include Persia (Iran and Afghanistan), Ethiopia, Libya, Turkey and others. Ezekiel 38:15-16 declares - "And thou (Russia) shalt come from thy place out of the north parts, thou, and many peoples with thee . . . a great company, and a mighty army; And thou shalt come up against My people of Israel."
WHAT COULD UNITE THE WARRING FACTIONS OF THE ISLAMIC NATIONS TO UNITE WITH RUSSIA AND ATTEMPT TO DESTROY ISRAEL?
#1 DESTRUCTION OF THE DOME OF THE ROCK: Some people believe that Israel will destroy the Dome of the Rock in order to rebuild their Temple. In my opinion, that is doubtful because Israel has assigned military guards to protect that Islamic holy site knowing that it's destruction would bring about a massive war against all of their neighbors. Recent discussions by Jewish Rabbis indicate that the Temple could be built beside the Dome of the Rock and lined up with the Eastern Gate.
#2 An all out war with militants in the Gaza Strip could also enrage the Islamic nations and bring them in retaliation against Israel: Israel has declared war against Hamas and may not be deterred from their goal of destroying their militant enemies. Calls for a cease fire may go unheeded as previous cease fires have never rectified the constant threat of terrorism.
#3 Bombing the nuclear manufacturing facilities in Iran: Israel knows that Iran must not gain the employment of nuclear weapons of mass destruction. For Israel, the threat of nuclear weapons in the hands of Iran would spell annihilation. It is just a matter of time when Israel will have to take action to eliminate the nuclear capabilities of Iran.
#4 Destruction of the weapon supply line through Syria and Lebanon: Everyone knows that the constant supply of rockets and weapons comes from Iran through Syria and Lebanon. Until that supply line is destroyed there will be continual conflicts and terrorism from Hamas and Hezbollah.
It is interesting that the Prophet Isaiah foresaw a day when Damascus, Syria will be totally destroyed. We read in Isaiah chapter 17 . . . vs. 1 - "The burden of Damascus. Behold, Damascus is taken away from being a city, and it shall be a ruinous heap." vs. 14 - "And behold at evening there is trouble; and before morning, he (Damascus) is no more." The overnight destruction of an entire city is nothing short of nuclear destruction. Who would perform such an act? The answer is obviously Israel, in defense of their own nation. Syria has multiple weapons of mass destruction, some of which were apparently transferred out of Iraq before Operation Desert Storm . . . and Syria is the puppet of Israel's arch enemy Iran. Can you imagine the outrage such an attack upon a Muslim capital would create . . . and it should be noted that Russian soldiers are already in Syria . . . ample reason for Russia to join in an all-out attack against the fledgling nation of Israel who even now is fighting for her very existence.
THE WAR OF GOG and MAGOG: Russia's attempt to invade Israel with the huge armies from the Muslim countries will lead to unbelievable disaster:
Ezekiel 38:18 - "And it shall come to pass at the same time when Gog shall come against the land of Israel, saith the Lord God, that My fury shall come up on My face." God had even declared earlier in chapter 38 - "Thus saith the Lord God: Behold, I am against thee, O Gog, the chief prince of Meschech and Tubal." In Ezekiel 39:1-2 The prophet repeated this ominous declaration of coming judgment upon Russia and the Islamic hordes: "Thus saith the Lord God: Behold, I am against thee, O Gog . . . And I will turn thee back, and leave but the sixth part of thee . . ."
The Lord will send a spirit of great confusion upon the Muslim raiders as the invading Shiites and Sunnis will apparently turn against one another and slaughter one another. (Ezekiel 38:21) In addition to this, the Lord will protect His nation (Israel) and send upon the invaders "an overflowing rain, and great hailstones, fire, and brimstone." (vs. 22)
The Scriptures also describe what could be nuclear holocaust as we read in Ezekiel 38:19-20 - "For in My jealousy and in the fire of My wrath have I spoken, Surely in that day there shall be a great shaking in the land of Israel, So that the fish of the sea, and the fowls of the heavens, and the beasts of the field, and all creeping things that creep upon the earth, and all the men that are upon the face of the earth shall shake at My presence, and the mountains shall be thrown down, and the steep places shall fall, and every wall shall fall to the ground." Will this "great shaking in the land of Israel" destroy God's chosen nation? We need to remember that God defined "His land" in Genesis 15:18 - "In the same day the LORD made a covenant with Abram, saying, Unto thy seed have I given this land, from the river of Egypt unto the great river, the river Euphrates." The great battle described by Ezekiel may very well occur in the lands east of the Jordan River . . . perhaps in the desert wastelands of modern-day Iraq where the enemies of Israel may muster their forces.
In addition to this terrible prophecy of coming judgment and destruction the Lord even declared - "And I will send a fire on Magog (Russia) AND AMONG THOSE WHO DWELL SECURELY IN THE COASTLANDS; and they shall know that I am the LORD." Ezekiel 39:6
TWO GREAT NATIONS ARE DESTINED FOR TERRIBLE JUDGMENT AND DESTRUCTION. The nation named is Magog or Russia. The other is unnamed but is described as those who dwell in the "coastlands" . . . or beyond the sea. "Coastlands" is also described in Isaiah 41:5 as "the ends of the earth" or the other side of the world . . . ("afar off" / Isaiah 66:19). Could the Lord be prophesying that great judgment will come upon an end-time nation such as the United States? Only time will reveal what the Lord has declared . . . but I would encourage you to read and study Revelation chapter 18 where a great end-time nation called "Babylon" is DESTROYED IN ONE HOUR . . . and this passage describes that end-time nation as the wealthy consumer of all the world's products. Is a country such as America deserving of such judgment? Look around and you be the judge yourself as we have become a nation of great violence, perversion, killing of our babies, a nation that has expelled God and the Bible from our public schools and teach evolution and gender confusion . . . we have become a nation in total rebellion against the Lord.
Only time will tell how the prophecies of the Lord will be fulfilled . . . but they WILL be fulfilled! Now is the time to FLEE to the God of all grace and mercy . . . confess that you are a lost sinner and call upon Him to save you . . . that is why Jesus died on the cross . . . to pray the price for all our sins and iniquities . . . but call upon Him soon!
