Middle East Ceasefire?

The people of Israel and the United States are rejoicing over the victorious bombing of Iran's nuclear sites.  Time will tell just how effective the "bunker buster" bombs were.  But before the world pops the cork on their champagne bottles, let's take a closer look at the future of the Middle East from a Biblical perspective.  According to the Scriptures, the Middle East is facing the mother of all wars   . . . and it will begin when Russia and a horde of Islamic fanatics try to invade and destroy Israel.  Read it for yourself in Ezekiel chapter 38 and 39.

The big question is - "What will trigger the future conflict that will apparently lead to nuclear war?"

Here are a couple of things to consider:

#1  The Iranian leaders are evil . . . but not fools.  They knew Israel (and the United States) would make every effort to destroy their nuclear ambitions.  Did they remove enough fission material to make some "dirty bombs" which would still be devastating to the people of Israel?

#2  Chinese cargo planes recently delivered unknown items to Iran.  Did China send in some nuclear devices before the conflict got heated up?  China is committed to the defense of Iran just like the United States is committed to the well-being of Israel.

#3  Does this "ceasefire" give Iran time to move their weapons?  Will Iran possibly try to deliver weapons of mass destruction to Israel by land instead of missiles which for the most part, are shot down?

#4  The Bible tells us that Damascus, Syria will one-day be totally destroyed . . . overnight!  "The burden of Damascus.  Behold, Damascus is taken away from being a city, and it shall be a ruinous heap . . . And behold at evening, trouble; and before morning, he is not."  Isaiah 17:1 and 14

QUESTION: Will Israel be forced to use a nuclear bomb to destroy Damascus in order to defend their own people?  Or will the crazies of Iran destroy Damascus and blame Israel in order to gain the support of the Muslim world?  Something is going to cause a "great army" to attack Israel . . . and that battle will lead to what appears to be nuclear devastation upon Russia and another unnamed end-time nation.  We read in Ezekiel 39:6 that God declared - "I will send a fire on Magog (Russia), and among those who dwell securely in the coastlands; and they shall know that I am the LORD."  The word "coastlands" is found in other passages to describe a society beyond the seas . . . a distant land.  That could suggest a very intensive war . . . and there are not too many foreign nations "beyond the seas" who dwell securely.

Whatever these prophetic passages mean, it is not a time to panic about the future.  It is time to make sure that we are in a proper relationship with God through faith in Jesus Christ . . . after all . . . He is the only One Who can promise eternal life!  (Romans 3:23, 5:8, 6:23, 9:13, John 1:12, 1 John 5:11-13)
