The people of Israel have always been the recipients of hatred and unjust persecution.  The world was shocked at the horrors unleashed upon six million Jews during the Holocaust . . . but now many nations are expressing their hatred of God's ancient people.  True, they have rejected the God of Salvation and the Lord Jesus Christ, but they are still the nation chosen by God to eventually reveal His glory, grace, and faithfulness. The Lord is not finished with Israel and He still loves them.

Since the beginning of the war against Hamas, anti-Israel demonstrations have cropped up all over the world . . . and especially in our beloved United States of America.  Jewish students are afraid to attend classes as pro-Palestinian demonstrations are becoming increasingly violent . . . and the worse is yet to come.

This should not surprise us as Jesus spoke of these very things in Matthew chapter 24 - "Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you; and YOU SHALL BE HATED OF ALL NATIONS for My Names sake."

Jesus was speaking of end-time events . . . "the beginning of sorrows" . . . and His prophetic comments were spoken directly to Jewish people who will one-day repent and receive the Lord Jesus as Savior and Messiah.  The hatred being expressed in today's world is directed not only to Israel, but the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob . . . and to the Messiah, the Lord Jesus Christ.

Let's pray for the people of Israel as their greatest trials are yet to come . . .

Take time to read about those future trials in Ezekiel chapter 38 and 39.  Are we beginning to see the fulfillment of these prophetic events?  Time will tell . . . but it appears that the world is heating up and headed for the "great shaking in the land" (Ezekiel 38:19) when Russia will join with a multitude of enraged Arabs and attempt to destroy Israel.  Meanwhile, let's "pray for the peace of Jerusalem" (Psalm 122:6) . . . and that real peace will come only when the Prince of Peace returns in power and great glory!
